Non-Indian India

A "Collection Of Non Indian Thoughts" as described by Steve Hackbarth gives you a very outright and frank description of what is in store for anyone travelling across the country. His great humour sense, excellent writing, vivid descriptions and shock at various experiences and encounters makes for great reading.

There are some descriptions that allow us to laugh at ourselves, some which should make us wonder where we stand in the world as a nation, some shameful, some pitiful and others that should leave us proud. And I have to warn that some of the descriptions are very explicit and from a "foreigner"'s standpoint and should be seen only that way. Happy reading..

You can navigate from the Prev/Next buttons in the forward direction (click on 7).. There are over a hundred posts and should give you enough stuff for a day! Or if you directly want to go to his Kerala leg of the journey, join here.

Yeah, I am trying to figure out the significance of the image.

But Mr. Hackbarth seems to have done a quick but accurate study rightly pointing out the disadvantages of the system in Kerala. When will we ourselves see the trouble the state is in if we just remain blind to what our so called democratically elected politicians (read Achudananthan and cronies, KK and cronies) determine is necessary for the state...more hartals, bandhs and strikes against any initiative that might bring prosperity and jobs to the state?

The state of Kerala has had the world's only democratically elected communist government
That is the greatest compliment to our democracy !!!

@ anonymous - yeah, he saw facts during his short travel which our people havent in a life time.

@ silverine - compliment yes, to the extent that we were bold enough to try communism..but having seen we have old croaks for leaders, we should be bold enough for change as well!

@ deepa - thanks for the link, will check it out.
